Bandits Attack Community in Niger State, Kill Resident and Abduct Family Members

A tragic incident has shaken residents of a rural community in Niger State, Nigeria, after armed bandits reportedly launched a deadly midnight attack, leaving one man dead and several family members abducted.

According to local sources, the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Babban Rami, a community located within Mashegu Local Government Area. The assailants, suspected to be bandits, stormed the area at approximately 2:00 a.m., catching residents off guard while they were asleep.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the attackers specifically targeted the residence of a well-known community member, identified as Alhaji Sahabi Buba. 

During the invasion, the victim was reportedly killed on the spot, causing deep shock and grief among family members and neighbors.

In a disturbing development, the attackers also abducted four of his wives and left the scene before any immediate response could be mounted.

As of the time of this report, the exact number of children or additional individuals taken during the incident remains unclear, raising further concern within the community.

Residents described the attack as sudden and terrifying, noting that the heavily armed assailants operated with speed and coordination.
